About the Fono Fa‘avae

A‘ana Alofi Nu. 2 is centred on Fasito‘o-Uta and its families. The Fono Fa‘avae provides a community-led platform for planning, accountability and implementation of district development priorities.

Ia ola manuia, a‘oa‘oina lelei ma galulue fa‘atasi tagata uma o A‘ana Alofi Nu. 2 — a district where families thrive, young people are supported, and development is transparent and sustainable.

Our Mission

To coordinate district development grants, community programmes and partnerships in ways that improve education, health, livelihoods, youth opportunities and village infrastructure.

Development Priorities

Our work is organised through committees that focus on the needs of families, schools, young people, farmers, fishers and local businesses.

Education, Health & Youth

Supporting schools, student assistance, youth programmes, health outreach, disability inclusion, sports and culture.

Agriculture & Fisheries

Promoting household food security, tunnel houses, demonstration plots, cooperative agriculture and practical training.

Economic & Infrastructure Development

Improving roads, public facilities, business opportunities, market access, district assets and long-term revenue generation.

District Development Zone

A long-term concept for a shared district development area of approximately 50 acres.

New Primary School

Proposed 16-classroom school with teachers’ offices, tea room, library, computer room, hall and play areas.

Sports Field & Covered Stadium

Rugby and football field, covered seating for approximately 1,200 people, and space below for offices, conference facilities, commercial kitchen, gymnasium, toilets and a shop.

Community Facilities

Basketball and volleyball courts, shared parking, agricultural demonstration area, TVET plots, district cemetery and potential solar farm.

Education Assistance

The Fono Fa‘avae has approved an Education Assistance Policy to help reduce barriers to learning and support families with education-related needs.
